OUR STORY


With the aspiration of being an exceptional leader with global logistic network and highest level of service in FMCG trade, the Chanrai family started operations in Ghana. After over a century of presence in Ghana, the team unfortunately had to take the decision to close operations due to political and economic turmoil in 1970s. But even when things change, there are some things that do not! One amongst those is our determination to succeed. Holding on to the key commitment of serving people better, the company returned to Ghana in 1997 and since then has built a strong and sustainable business model making its mark as a premier supply chain management company.

We constantly evolved there by developing our knowledge and innovating new operating methods to provide our clients the highest quality services and best positive experiences. And few years later, Fareast Mercantile Co. Limited (FMCL) has established itself as a leading importer/distributor of branded foods, automotive tyres, FMCG and pharmaceuticals products. We always had the belief that we were heading in the right direction - we were always certain of who we want to be and what we want to achieve.

Along the journey, we’ve successfully partnered with MNCs and other world class corporations for marketing and distributing their products. We strategically invested in a branch network ably supported by skilled manpower, vehicles and infrastructure to ensure availability of products across the length and breadth of the country. Together with providing Ghanaian consumers with access to unique, high quality international brands, FMCL has successfully launched its own coffee brand “Arocafe”, taking it as a privilege to deliver the pure coffee produced in India that matches international standards, onto our consumer’s doorsteps!
